What are the uses of Diborane?
Diborane is used in rocket propellants, as a reducing agent, as a rubber vulcanizer, as a catalyst for hydrocarbon polymerization, as a flame-speed accelerator, and as a doping agent. It is also used in electronics to impart electrical properties in pure crystals.

What are boranes give example?
Boranes are compounds consisting of boron and hydrogen. They were investigated systematically by the german scientist Alfred Stock at the beginning of the 19th century. The most basic example is diborane (B2H6), all boranes are electron-deficient compounds.
Is borane a gas?
The parent member BH3 is called borane, is known only in the gaseous state, and dimerizes to form diborane, B2H6. The larger boranes all consist of boron clusters that are polyhedral, some of which exist as isomers. For example, isomers of B20H26 are based on the fusion of two 10-atom clusters.
Is diborane a gas?
Diborane is a colorless gas with a sickly, sweet odor. It is usually shipped in pressurized cylinders diluted with Hydrogen, Argon, Nitrogen or Helium. Diborane is used as a reducing agent for making other chemicals, as a catalyst, and in electronics and vulcanizing rubber.
How do you make a diborane?
1)Diborane can be prepared by treating boron trifluoride with LiAlH4 in diethyl ether. (2)In the laboratory it is conveniently prepared by the oxidation of sodium borohydride with iodine. (3)On large scale it is prepared by reaction of BF3 with sodium hydride.
What happens when diborane reacts with water?
Diborane is a colorless highly flammable gas with a repulsive, sickly sweet odor. At high concentrations, it ignites spontaneously in moist air at room temperature. It reacts with water to form hydrogen and boric acid.
What is banana bond?
A banana bond is also known as a bent bond. It is a type of chemical bonding where the ordinary hybridization state of two atoms making up a chemical bond are modified with increased or decreased s-orbital character in order to accommodate a particular molecular geometry (that of 3 bananas in a ring shape).
