An automatic vent damper not only restricts the flow of heated air up the chimney, but can also reduce the amount of cold outside air leaking in to replace the escaping warm air. It is placed in the flue pipe between the heating unit and the chimney to block the passage of heat after the unit has been shut down.

How do I open my air duct damper?

To open the damper, you should turn the lever at a position where it’s paralleled with the duct. This allows the air to flow through the ducts to its fullest. Then, adjust the lever to a position horizontal to the duct to close it.

What is a round damper on a vent?

The automatic round damper is a single blade damper that uses a motor to control the volume of circulating air in heating, cooling and vent systems. Fresh air round dampers feature a motorized single blade damper used for fresh air intake.

What is a ZD damper used for?

The Honeywell ZD damper is a power close and spring open damper. These dampers are available with square or rectangular parallel blades. Its 24 volt motor controls the air circulating in HVAC systems and is commonly used when a normally-open damper is required.

What types of dampers do we offer?

We offer a range of Honeywell, Hart & Cooley and EWC dampers, which are available in variety of models. The automatic round damper is a single blade damper that uses a motor to control the volume of circulating air in heating, cooling and vent systems.

How do dampers work in HVAC systems?

Dampers physically open and close to regulate room temperatures in an HVAC system. They come in a variety of shapes and designs to work in any system. Dampers regulate room temperature and efficiently balance the supply of air coming from an HVAC unit by reducing the level of air flow or heat to unoccupied rooms.
