Grade 1: The minimum age to take Grade 1 is 7 years old. The exam is aimed at children ages 7-10 and can take 3-4 terms to complete on one class per week.

What do Grade 1 ballet students learn?

The classes consist of classical ballet exercises to develop good posture, transfer of weight, stretched legs and feet and controlled landings with the use of turnout being introduced from Grade 1. Free movement steps are used and children have the opportunity to create their own sequences suitable for their level.

How long do RAD results take?

The RAD issues a print out of the results to the class teacher 4 weeks after the last day of the exam session; this can mean a wait of up to 7 weeks. You will be notified when your results are in.
