What are RISD colors?
RISD doesn’t have “school colors” in the traditional sense. However, strong, bold, rich color is a preferred sensibility to a palette that is more serene or ‘dusty.
Does Rhode Island School of Design have athletics?
Athletics. RISD has many athletic clubs and teams. As might be considered fitting for an arts school, the symbolism used for the teams is unique. The hockey team is called the “Nads”, and their cheer is “Go Nads!”

During the fall, winter, and spring terms, Brown students enroll at RISD under a cross-registration agreement that is part of their Brown tuition. RISD studios are most often 3 or 6 credits.

When does the RISD Museum open?
The RISD Museum has reopened to the public. Advance ticket purchase is required to help ensure the safety of museum staff and visitors. HOURS: TUE, WED, SAT, SUN 10am – 5pm, THU & FRI 12 – 7pm. The museum is closed on June 19th, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
