Tours are approximately 2+ hours long and include plenty of time in pasture to see rare and endangered animals in their open-range habitats and learn directly about our programs from your Animal Management guide.

The Zoo complex is a recreational and education destination that includes the 22-acre Zoombezi Bay water park and 18-hole Safari Golf Course. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium also manages The Wilds, a 10,000-acre conservation center and safari park located in southeastern Ohio.

What can I bring into The Wilds?

We recommend comfortable footwear and casual clothing (dress for the weather), as there will be some walking. No pets are allowed anywhere on The Wilds property.

Can you feed the animals at the Wilds?

We stopped at the lake, where you can feed the swans and fish for a modest fee, and the carnivore house, housing African Wild Dogs and Cheetahs. You can make this an enjoyable day trip, or stay overnight in one of their yurts.

Are babies free at the Wilds?

I just spoke with customer service at The Wilds. She said only infants in a carrier attached to the parent is free. All others are the same price as adults. The infant cannot be in a hand carried seat as it would take up another seat.
