Is a Hepatitis A booster recommended?
A hepatitis A booster is not recommended when a full course of combined hepatitis A and B or combined hepatitis A and typhoid vaccine is given [18], as long as a second dose of hepatitis A vaccine has been administered within 6–12 months, either as a monovalent or combination vaccine.
When should you get a hep a booster?
For long-term immunity, the HepA vaccination series should be completed with a second dose at least 6 months after the first dose. However, the second dose is not necessary for PEP. A second dose should not be administered sooner than 6 calendar months after the first dose, regardless of HAV exposure risk.
