How to Connect your Pedals to your Guitar and Amp
- Make sure your amp is turned off.
- Connect your guitar cable to your guitar.
- Then plug the other end into the “input” side of your pedal.
- Plug another guitar cable into the “output” side of your pedal.
- Then plug the other end into the “input” on your amp.
How does a guitar pedal switch work?
Effects switchers work by grouping pedals into loops. The player decides which combination of pedals are required for which sounds and stores those combinations as loops. Then, when a certain sound is required, a simple tap on a footswitch activates that particular loop and the effects that are in it.

Where does the wire come out of a footswitch?
As you can see from our wiring diagram, the wire coming from the sleeve goes to terminal 6 of our footswitch and the wire coming from the tip of the jack input goes to terminal 9 (directly below 6).
How do you hook up a footswitch to a wall socket?
