It’s highly accurate, so the process is quick and easy. If you don’t want to spend so much on a thermometer, get a couple digital thermometers and average the temps. That’s what i use also. Plus i have a glass one and run dual probes on my apex along with a JBJ true temp.
Where should I put my apex probes?
Ideally, you should place your probe in a probe holder of some sort designed to hold it in place. When placing your probe in the sump, make sure the lower end of the probe is fully submerged, but the wire end is above the surface of the water.

Just don’t drop more than . 001 at a time and wait at least a few hours or more before you drop it further and try to do each stage as slowly as possible. Most fish can handle even faster salinity drops if it’s done slowly via drip methods however . 001 per day is safe for all inhabitants.
How do you clean apex conductivity probe?
