New Xfinity by Comcast customers can order a self-install kit at the same time they sign up for Xfinity services. Your self-install kit will be mailed directly to your home. If you don’t want to wait for your equipment to be mailed to you, you can also go pick it up yourself at a Xfinity customer service center.

How hard is Xfinity self-install?

Is Comcast Xfinity self-installation easy? Installing your Xfinity service on your own takes about 30 minutes or less. All you’ll need to do is connect a coaxial cable from the outlet in your wall to your cable TV box or Xfinity modem. After that, you’ll connect your cable box to your TV and your modem to your router.

Do I need a technician to install my internet?

Depending on the internet provider and plan you get, you can install your new internet package by doing it yourself or by hiring a professional technician to do it for you. When you choose to self-install, your internet provider will send you an installation kit in the mail.

Will Xfinity install my modem?

Yes. If you are an Xfinity X1 or Flex customer, you can visit a local Xfinity Store to pick one up in person, or you can order a remote control to be shipped to you via UPS in a Getting Started kit (accessory shipping and handling fees will apply) through the Xfinity Assistant or by contacting us.

Do I have to wait for Comcast self install kit?

Does Comcast install outlets?

All cable outlets are accessible, or you know where you want them installed. Someone 18 years or older will be present for the duration of the installation. All equipment you already have (e.g., wireless cards, modems, routers) is available to the technician. All pets are secured while the technician is in your home.

How do I Self Install Xfinity WiFi?

Place your xFi Wireless Gateway near a cable wall outlet. Try to find a central location in your home,away from windows and external walls.

  • Connect one end of the coaxial cable to your open wall socket. Turn it right to tighten,and make sure you tighten it all the way.
  • Plug the power cord into the back of the gateway and then into a wall outlet.
  • If your gateway doesn’t turn on automatically,press the power button.
  • Wait until the online connection light stops flashing and remains on. This could take up to twenty minutes.

    Find the nearest wall socket and connect one end to your coaxial cable. Tighten all the way by turning it clockwise.

  • Grab Coaxial other end and connect to your xFI Wireless Gateway.
  • Plug the power cord into the xFI gateway the other end into the nearest wall outlet.
  • The xFi Gateway starts automatically,if not,press the power button to get turn on.
  • How do you hook up Xfinity internet?

    Connect the modem to the computer by attaching the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet ports on both units. Some modems may require an extra step if the cable connection to the computer is via USB cable.
